George Hiller established the
Global Virginia project at the SW Virginia Higher Education
Center in 2003. He has served as the Director of
International Business and Education at the Center since
that time. From 1992-2002 he worked with Southwest Virginia
companies as an International Trade Manager for the Virginia
Economic Development Partnership. In addition, he directed
the Partnership’s trade promotion programs in Mexico and
opened the Virginia representative office in Mexico City.
He is
also active in the higher education sector as a member of
the business advisory board of the University of Virginia’s
College at Wise as well as an adjunct professor of
marketing. He is a member of the Virginia Hispanic
Foundation Board and was recently elected to the Board of
Governors for NASBITE International (North American Small
Business International Trade Educators.) Originally from
Albuquerque, New Mexico, George received his BA degree from
the University of New Mexico, MBA from the Thunderbird
School of Global Management, and JD from the University of
Richmond.
